The Bad Dudes - The Bad Dudes

My apologies for not having the original album art. I was turned on to these guys by my good friend who you should check out. he's a badass. but, on to the bad dudes: for that mathy-sounding champion rock with that undeniable electronic frosting, check the bad dudes. they have a unique sound and pretty much their entire repertoire is badass.

try it.

Miles Davis - The '58 Sessions

Possibly my favorite jazz album of all time. Lots of sweet, melodic takes on big name tracks with a fucking all-star lineup. miles davis, john coltrane, bill evans? tell me, mr. cool, why have you not heard this album?

try it.

Aphex Twin - Richard D. James Album

Aphex Twin is by far one of the most champion electronic musicians out there. This album is a cohesion of several styles of electronic music from glitchbeat fury to synthpop melodyrock to ambient chillout, Richard D. James is just showing off his versatility. While that is a scattered description, the whole thing works together extremely well.

The Windswept Stars - Christopher Hunt's Album Computer

The Windswept Stars second album. recommended for lovers of the lo-fi caliber, this soothing album is a blend between dreamy folk and noise. One of those albums that just works fantastically.

The Avalanches - Gimix

The avalanches are an australian DJ group. this album, comprised entirely of (mostly recognizable) samples is one of those sexy genre-bending blends that exists somewhere between melodically-pleasing mashups and nostalgic dance tunes. seamless, badass, sexy.

try it.

amiina - kurr

the first full-length album from this icelandic quintet is heavily instrumental. horns, chimes, xylophones, and strings form the basis of the sounds idiosyncratic to iceland as started by groups like sigur ros and mum. very relaxed and lush, but informed with tedious melodic structure.

try it.buy it.
